January kicked off the Year of Fun for our family. Last November, I got a promotion at work, and with that came going back to work 5 days a week. The hardest part about that is that I miss "Mommy days," the Thursdays that I spent with the girls cleaning house, running errands, and hanging out. We have been trying to find our new groove, but it seems like there just aren't enough hours in a day. To refocus on our family and to ensure that we don't get bogged down in the day-to-day doldrums, we declared 2015 to be The Year of Fun! We came up with a list of fun things to do with at least one each month.
We started off January watching the Rose Bowl! As you can see, Bella was very into cheering on our Ducks to a win.

Oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Bella also got another big haircut. We had been having issues with a big knot each morning, and she decided rather that having me comb it out each and everyday she wanted to chop off her hair to see if that fixed the issue.
Her hair was super long, once again. Natalia got a little trim, too.She loved the shorter hair, and it did fix her tangles!
The next weekend was the national championship game. We all went to my parents' house to watch with them. My mom had won a Duck basket at some event, so she was ready!
The girls had spent all day baking and decorating for the viewing party. They had the gear, the signs, and plenty of food.
As you can see, they had lots of fun. The game was much less fun, but we still love our Ducks!
January also brought a mommy date with my sweet Bella. We went and got some fro yo at her favorite spot.
First up on our Year of Fun list was mini golfing. In late January we stopped into Putters for some golf and playtime. The girls had fun! Natalia mostly threw her ball around, but Bella focused and did a great job!
They loved the water and spent a lot of time taking pictures by the waterfall. "Take another picture!"
January also brought a birthday party for Bella's friend, Tycho. We went to his house, played with clay, ate cake, and partied with balloons. The kids had lots of fun running around!
Natalia felt left out, so we went to the park as a family after. We had some really nice weather this winter, so we were able to play outside a lot more than usual. One of our favorite spots is the local elementary school that Bella will be attending in the fall. It is about six blocks from our house, and there is lots to do there.
The girls are both getting so big and can climb all over the place!
Aw, look at this cute couple!
Second on the list for the Year of Fun was the new trampoline park. They finally opened one in Eugene, and it is just a few minutes from our house. The girls have been begging to go since it opened. It definitely lived up to the hype.
It was busy, but there was still lots of room to play. They had an area for little kids, but Natalia wants to be wherever Bella is so we all played together.
One of the areas is a basketball hoop where you can dunk. Bella loves basketball (good thing since she is super tall) and played here for quite a while.
Natalia was all smiles and had a great time bouncing around. We will definitely come here again, soon!
In January, Bella's class put on a class play based on the book The Mitten. Bella was the grandma. It was very cute to see the kids on stage.
Bella's abuelos came to the play and even brought her flowers for her starring role. She is so sweet!
After all this fun, we needed some downtime. The girls both love art and are happy to spend quiet time coloring or creating. Bella was very excited to use her special marker set.
Natalia was happy to harass Bella while she colored. Typical little sister behavior.
Finally, we ended the month by kicking off Bella's birthday week. We had lunch at Red Robin and she loved her sundae. Bella also wore lots of jewelry and this tee shirt so she would look older. She said she looked like she was eight.
The first month of the Year of Fun was a big success! Here's to 11 more months of fun!
