A New Roof

Over the past few years, we have slowly been fixing the big issues around our house. When we bought our house in 2005, it was the beginning of the real estate boom, and we took the house as-is knowing that there were several projects we had to do ourselves. Jose has done a fantastic job with the residing, painting, new flooring, and helping pick out a heat pump. The final big project on the list was a new roof.

The big dumpster was delivered to our driveway first. Bella was a huge fan. She really liked to climb the ladder on the side and peek in.

Then Jose and Josiah (our next door neighbor who is a contractor and did most of the work) started removing the old roof. Next, they put down new tar paper.

Jose is modeling the lumberjack look while he takes a break.

Bella thought the dumpster was this big.

Next, the new roofing supplies were delivered. The neighborhood kids liked this part, too!

After several days of stapling and cutting our roof was complete. It looked like this, but with fewer construction supplies and shingles on top. Somehow, I neglected to take an after pic.
