Nature Walk

Way back in the beginning of September, when Jose had been back at work a few weeks, we started to get restless at home. We had finally settled into a little bit of a routine, and tried to have an "adventure" each morning before lunch. I was quickly running out of ideas for new things to do. Jose suggested I take the girls to Alton Baker park to feed the ducks.

Bella, Talia, and I set off with an old loaf of bread. Part of the park is fenced off to create a better environment for the ducks, so we went to the opposite pond.

The ducks (and mean geese) were very excited to see us. Bella kept running ahead to find more birds.

They followed us everywhere we went. Clearly, we looked like we had bread.

We passed a sign noting the problems with feeding the ducks (they don't migrate, they don't get a balanced diet, etc.) but were determined to make some duck friends.

Natalia did not want to make friends. The birds didn't either. After swarming us as soon as we got out the bread, one bold goose grabbed a piece out of Bella's hand. She freaked out, and so did I. Instead we went to throw some leaves off a bridge. Way less dangerous!
