Isabella has always been opinionated. She is very verbal and vocal about what she wants and when she wants it. This has been mostly great as a parent because we never have to guess at what she might need or want. It is also challenging because as parents, we are in charge, and she does not like when she doesn't get her way.
At two and a half, she has now reached the stage where she thinks she is 18 and can do everything her little heart desires all by herself. As is the toddler rule, she wants to do it even if she PHYSICALLY cannot do it. We try to encourage her to do what she can, but sometimes it goes too far. Yesterday, the following acts resulted in a meltdown with tears because I did not consult Bella and give her the chance to do it herself.
* unloading the grocery cart onto the belt
* swiping my debit card and entering the pin number
* opening the childproof cap and dispensing vitamins
* purchasing a lottery ticket (seriously, you don't look 18 yet, Bells)
It is great when she gets dressed and puts things away! If only she would grow two feet taller it would really help her situation.
