Monkeys at the Zoo

Last Thursday, Isabella decided that it would be fun to wake up at 5:30. By 8 am, I was already exhausted and ready to get out of the house. The weather was sunny and warm (76 degrees, woo!), so we headed off to the Oregon Zoo! This was another item on my 30 Before 30 List.

Fortunately, Bella was already tired since she had been up for hours already, so she conked out on the ride up. She woke up just as I was parking at the Zoo (which took a half an hour, but that is a whole other story).

Tia Jenna met us at the entrance, and off we went. First up was a baby bear climbing trees. It was so cute, and Bella loved it!
Then we saw fish, and penguins!

And hippos (which prompted me to sing my favorite song from Madagascar 2!), and giraffes, and zebras!

And much more that I didn't document digitally. For our grand finale, we took a spin on the zoo train. Bella really enjoyed making train noises and looking at the millions of school kids on field trips (seriously, millions!!!).

We had a great time hanging out with Tia Jenna. It was amazing to see Bella make connections between the animals in real life, and the ones we read about in her books. She was so cute, making animal noises and repeating the names of the animals. I am pretty sure she had a whole conversation with a chimpanzee. All in all, a perfect day!
