Graduation

Over Mother's Day weekend, we all trekked up to Portland for Jenna's graduation from University of Portland. We had a fantastic time hanging out with our family (Grampa Sam and Tia Jill came), lounging at the hotel, swimming in the pool, and eating lots of food.

Bella and I drove up with my parents on Friday to pick up Grampa Sam from the airport. Jose joined us after he got off work. We had a generally lazy day which culminated with a trip to Red Robin (have I mentioned how much Bella loves fries? It is a lot!), and a swim in the pool.

Saturday we woke up bright and early for the Nursing School pinning which began at 8:30 am. Who makes an event at 8:30 on a Saturday? Especially one where you have to arrive early to get a seat? And of course, it was the one day that Isabella wanted to sleep in, so we had to wake her up to leave. Needless to say, she was not so much enjoying it. But we did!

Hey, Dad. Haz una carita!

Don't let that smile trick you into thinking she was in a good mood.

After the pinning, we had lunch at Christie's, which included lots of toast! Then, we were off to pick up Jill at the airport and hang out at the hotel. Once again, we had a yummy dinner, this time at Elmer's, then went swimming.

Sunday brought more eating, more graduation ceremonies, and Mother's Day celebration. In the morning, my mom and I were showered with gifts from our family. We then had a lovely brunch hosted by UP, then Jose, Bells, and I went back to the hotel for nap time while everyone else got seats for the big ceremony. We arrived back at school in time to see Jenna walk across the stage. For our Mother's Day dinner, our family all went to Stanford's... at the airport. It was amazing!

The Marquez fam then drove home, exhausted but happy.
