Christmas 2013

This year the Christmas season got a little hectic because of the big snowstorm. Since people aren't used to driving in the snow, it can be a little crazy on the roads and many activites were cancelled.

At church, the Advent festival was pushed back a week. Bella had a fantastic time decorating cookies, making ornaments, decorating a graham cracker house, and baking cinnamon rolls. Natalia just wanted to sleep, and was not a happy camper. Better luch next year. They had a photo booth, and this picture just makes me laugh.

The following weeked, my sister Jill arrived from DC and we had our annual baking day. This was the first year that Jenna was not home, but we did our best. We even used the cookbook she made us.

Look at all the treats! They were pretty, but I kind of destroyed the fudge, and the first batch of toffee was burnt and awful! Better luck next year!

That weekend was also the caroling party at church. This was the first year Bella knew some of the songs to sing. Natalia was more into the desserts.

On Christmas Eve Eve, we had our family Christmas. The girls were super excited to open presents from us.

Bella got a Stuffie! (Also, if I never see a stuffie commercial again it will be too soon!) She loves it. She named her unicorn Chloe and she likes to go on car rides and sleep in her bed.

Natalia really liked her farm animals.

Of course, immediately after they fought over the toys, but I got a great picture of them the next morning playing nicely together.

Christmas Eve we continued our tradition of church, then tamale dinner at Jose's parents. Natalia came down with a horrible cold, so she just wanted to be held all night. It was a little stressful what with the crying and whining, but overall we had a great time spending time with his family. Better luck next year?

Christmas Day was spent at my parents' house. Santa came to our house and brought Bella roller skates and Natalia got a rocking horse. Then, we went and opened stockings and presents with my family. Natalia was feeling a little better, so it was more relaxing.
