Farmer's Market

Having a baby has really changed how I think about food. While it is perfectly fine for me to drink lots of caffeine and eat candy and other un-healthy items, we make a really big effort to make sure Bella eats very healthfully. (As a result, Jose and I make better choices too!)

Part of that, for us, is getting the most out of fresh fruits and veggies. We live in an area with tons of organic, local farms, but don't utilize that as much as we should.

On Saturday, it was sunny, so Bella and I adventured out to the Farmer's Market. We really enjoyed going each week last summer and selecting our items for the week.

Once we arrived, we quickly found out that not a whole lot is in season around here yet. Lots of lettuce (eh), leeks (no, thanks), beets (not a fan), and other root vegetables. Instead we picked out some ciabatta bread, a pie (for my dad), some flowers (for my mom), and two cute tie dye shirts (one for Bella and one for her friend). I never thought my child would wear tie dye, but it is pink and purple!

On a related note, I need to buy a new baby carrier that fits on my back because 22 lbs of baby is just way too much for her front carrier.
