You guys! I am so far behind on my blogging, but love keeping it at a memory book to look back on. The girls especially love looking back on pictures of themselves when they were babies. It is also a great way for me to document when something happened. So, I am going to try to catch up and do better. That means that I am going to backdate posts for the past year so they actually show up around the time they happened in real life. Sorry if that messes up your feeds. :)
Onto June! June is one of my favorite months in Oregon. It is finally warm enough to do lots of fun things outside without sweltering all day. We kicked off June with the annual Function 4 Junction. As per usual, the girls loved the pink and purple car best.
Jose also likes checking out the rides.
This was also the first month of Bella playing T-Ball. It has been really fun this year to watch her try new sports and see what she likes. T-Ball got a meh, not my favorite rating. I think it is really difficult to learn all the skills (hitting, catching, throwing). Bella is super competitive and likes to be good at everything she does so trying something new can be especially challenging for her.
Overall, she did like the social part of it, but she wanted to keep score.
Natalia must have had a growth spurt because all of a sudden she looks like a little kid and not so much a toddler. Her hair is such a mop, and when I put it up she looks so old!
See, a kid!
For Bella's T-Ball season they packed 8 games into a 3 and a half week period, so most of our month was spent at a practice or a game.
The nice thing about kindergarten sports is they get to try lots of different positions. Bella played mainly first base, but some catcher, pitcher, and second base.
At practice, Bella chose to wear her most baseball outfit she owned. Too cute!
The end of the school year also coincides with the end of the year for Junior League. The incoming board had a retreat that included Pub Cycling! It was really fun, but a little bit hard.
Natalia wanted me to document her fancy dress and shoes. So documented.
Bella took this selfie of her ankle. She sprained it jumping on the bed. Like a monkey!
Just like the Major Leaguers!
Our summer tour of parks from last year continued on to this year. Robin Park was a new one.
It was super tiny and hidden, but had all the things we require: basketball, swings, a slide. And as a bonus, there was sand!
Natalia had a good time swinging while Bella practiced her basketball skills.
One of my favorite things about these monthly posts is looking back at the entire month at once. June in Oregon has unpredictable weather shown by the fleece in the above picture and the sunhat and tank top below.
Oh, hey! More t-ball!
I am a little more settled in my job, so I can now take time off to volunteer at the girls' schools. One of the year end activities for kindergarten was Field Day. It was so fun to watch Bella and her friends. They had Tug-of-War.
Sack Races.
And I was in charge of the Bean Bag Toss.
A few days later was the Kindergarten Show. Mr. Shane's class sang a song and did a little dance.
They somehow packed 58 kids, plus their parents and families into a classroom. It was packed. And HOT! Natalia couldn't see, so we stood in the back.
Mrs. Friesen's reading group, which Bella is part of, read a poem.

Then the kids got to play outside and have snacks. Bella made a lot of great friends this year and is going to miss them over the summer!

Bella and Anthony.
Bella also won a prize for doing the most homework this year. When I told Jose, he responded, "Wait, that was optional?" Apparently so. She was thrilled to get ten cans of playdough to create art this summer.
We also got a bag of artwork and workbooks from the year. This reads, "My magic power would be to telecuneeses." This girl cracks me up!
Surprise, more T-Ball!
Natalia said, "Bella, this is a great place for a meeting!" This meeting looks very serious.
We bought a bunch of workbooks for the girls to complete over the summer to keep up their skills. So far, Bella is mildly interested, but Natalia wants to work on hers everyday.
I don't know where this came from, but it hurt.
Guess what?! More t-ball!
She looks ready to run!
Skate World is closing its' doors. I remember having my 10th birthday party there, and I don't think a thing has changed since then. As part of their going away festivities, groups are able to rent it out for private parties. I took the girls to a fundraiser for Womenspace. Skating with kids is HARD! I was so sweaty from holding them up for an hour.
One of our goals when we bought our new house was to actually invite people over. We have so many projects that we want to do, and it is usually a construction zone, but we decided who cares.
Our friends came over for a BBQ and playtime. Natalia ate her entire dinner plus 4 cobs of corn. That girl is a good eater as they say in Missouri.
The kiddos also raided the costume bin.
And got to go play in the Woodlands.
This has been the first year that Natalia's friends have had birthday parties and invited the class. We went to Bounce for Roma's party, and Natalia had a blast! I really should sign her up for gymnastics.
Finally, for posterity, I have included some random photos from June.
Bella and Natalia riding the elephant at Elephant's Trunk.
The girls playing Legos.
Natalia's second dentist appointment. Still no cavities, which is shocking considering she brushes her teeth for about 3 seconds each day.
For Bella's last t-ball game, she was sick and had a fever. She really wanted to go because team pictures were that day, so we let her. This was her when she wasn't batting.
Blueberry face!
Hopefully I will be able to stay on top of my monthly posts!
